What is the working principle of the overload protection device of BWD27 cycloid reducer?

1. Mechanical overload protection (safety shear pin)

This protection method is achieved by setting safety shear pins of specific specifications in the transmission system. When excessive resistance is encountered during operations such as mud scraping, causing the torque to exceed the set threshold, the shear pin will be sheared due to excessive force, thereby physically cutting off power transmission and protecting the equipment from damage.

2. Electrical overload protection (thermal relay)

This method is mainly realized by monitoring the operating current of the motor in real time. When the system is overloaded and the motor current exceeds its rated value, the thermal relay will determine it to be overloaded and trigger an action to stop the motor, thereby achieving the purpose of overload protection.

In addition, in some more advanced overload protection reducer designs, friction discs, springs or magnetic couplings are used to achieve overload disengagement; or a displacement sensor, current detection and touch switch are combined to realize automatic and rapid disengagement and synchronous output of alarm signals when overloaded to improve the intelligence level and response speed of the equipment.
