The wear of the output shaft will cause the noise of the BWD09-87-0.37KW cycloidal pinwheel reducer to become louder, and this is usually one of the common causes of abnormal noise. This is especially true when the journal, keyway, spline or mating surface with the bearing/coupling is worn.
1. Mechanism and performance of noise caused by wear and tear
Increased fit clearance: Journal wear causes the fit between the inner ring of the bearing and the shaft to loosen, causing radial runout, impact and abnormal noise during operation; wear of the keyway/spline causes the coupling/sprocket to loosen, causing periodic impact sounds or slipping noises.
Coaxiality and force imbalance: shaft bending or uneven wear destroys the meshing and support accuracy, and the cycloidal wheel and pin teeth are not meshed well, resulting in high-frequency whistling or knocking sounds; at the same time, bearing wear is aggravated, forming a vicious cycle.
Typical noise: It is mostly a 'clang' impact sound at low speed, and it is a sharp whistling or irregular buzzing sound at high speed, often accompanied by increased vibration and abnormal temperature rise.
2. Troubleshooting and handling suggestions
(1) Shutdown inspection: Visually observe the wear and strain of the journal, keyway, and spline; use a dial indicator to measure the radial runout and end face circular runout of the shaft; check whether the bearing is loose, abnormally loud, or hot; check the coaxiality of the coupling and the load.
(2) Temporary measures: Tighten the coupling bolts and replace worn keys and elastic pads; if the gap is too large, spraying, brush plating or inserting can be used to repair the journal; if the bearing is damaged, replace it immediately.
(3) Radical solution: Directly replace the output shaft when wear is severe, assemble it according to the manufacturer's requirements and ensure coaxiality; add qualified lubricating oil after replacement, monitor noise, vibration and temperature rise in the early stages of operation, and adjust the load or install a shock absorber if necessary.
3. Things to note
The noise of the cycloidal pinwheel reducer may also come from the wear of the cycloid wheel, damage to the pin tooth sleeve, failure of the swing arm bearing or poor lubrication. Cross-checking is required to avoid misjudgment.
The 0.37KW model is a low-power model and is more sensitive to assembly accuracy and fit clearance. After maintenance, the coaxiality and runout must be rechecked to ensure that it meets the factory standards.
