1. Shutdown and safety preparation
Complete shutdown: Oil level inspection and adjustment must be carried out with the reducer completely stopped. Oil splashing during operation will cause inaccurate oil level display.
Cut off the power supply: To ensure personal safety, the power supply to the reducer must be cut off before operation, and the lockout and tagout (LOTO) procedure must be performed to prevent the equipment from accidentally starting.
Wait for cooling: Wait for the reducer to cool down until there is no risk of burns, but it is best to keep it warm (about 40-50°C). At this time, the viscosity of the lubricating oil is low and the fluidity is good, which not only facilitates the discharge of old oil, but also allows the oil level reading to be more accurate.
2. Check and adjust oil level
Confirm the standard oil level: The normal static oil level of the DCY reducer should be maintained between 1/2 and 2/3 of the oil mark (oil window).
Replenish lubricating oil: If the oil level is lower than the lower limit, new lubricating oil of the same brand as required by the equipment needs to be slowly injected from the oil filling port. Fill to the 2/3 position of the oil window and stop.
Drain excess lubricating oil: If the oil level is too high (more than 2/3), it will lead to increased oil churning loss, abnormal increase in oil temperature and risk of oil channeling. Part of the lubricating oil needs to be drained through the oil drain port to the standard scale.
3. Follow-up inspection and confirmation
Let it stand for observation: After filling or draining the oil, let it stand for a period of time to allow the lubricating oil to fully flow and distribute in the oil chamber, and check again whether the oil level is stable within the standard range.
Operation review: Restart the reducer and let it run at low speed without load for a period of time to allow the lubricating oil to fully circulate inside. Check the oil level again after shutting down and make fine adjustments if necessary.
