The eccentric sleeve structure of the cycloid pin wheel reducer has a crucial influence on the movement of the cycloid wheel, as follows:

  • Form the revolution of the cycloid wheel: The existence of the eccentric sleeve causes the center of the cycloid wheel to move around the axis of the input shaft, that is, to produce revolutions. When the input shaft rotates with an eccentric sleeve, the cycloid wheel will rotate in the needle tooth shell as the eccentric sleeve rotates.

  • Realize the rotation of the cycloid wheel: Since the cycloid wheel meshes with the needle teeth on the needle tooth shell, while revolution, the cycloid wheel will also rotate around its own axis. This rotational movement is caused by the relative movement between the cycloid wheel and the needle teeth.

  • Determine the movement trajectory of the cycloid wheel: The eccentric distance of the eccentric sleeve determines the movement trajectory of the cycloid wheel. The larger the eccentric distance, the larger the radius of the cycloid wheel, and the more its motion trajectory deviates from the axis of the input shaft. On the contrary, the smaller the eccentric distance, the closer the movement trajectory of the cycloid wheel is to the axis of the input shaft.

  • Influence the speed of the cycloid wheel: The structural parameters of the eccentric sleeve (such as eccentric distance, rotation speed, etc.) will affect the speed of the cycloid wheel. Generally speaking, the larger the eccentric distance, the lower the speed of the cycloid wheel; conversely, the smaller the eccentric distance, the higher the speed of the cycloid wheel.

  • Change the stress status of the cycloid wheel: The structure of the eccentric sleeve will change the meshing state between the cycloid wheel and the needle teeth, thereby affecting the stress status of the cycloid wheel. When the eccentric distance is large, the meshing force between the cycloid wheel and the needle teeth will increase, which may cause the wear of the cycloid wheel to intensify; conversely, when the eccentric distance is small, the meshing force between the cycloid wheel and the needle teeth will decrease, which may affect the transmission efficiency of the reducer.
