When the ZSY reducer is installed vertically, the core of the fixation solution is to ensure that the reducer can be firmly suspended or supported, and to effectively offset the reaction torque generated when the equipment is running. There are two main types of common fixation solutions:
1. Flange fixed (suspended)
This is the most common way of vertical installation of ZSY reducer.
Fixing method: Use the large annular flange surface and its bolt holes on the reducer housing to directly fix the reducer to the stable equipment rack or support structure above through high-strength bolts. The output shaft extends vertically downward to drive the working machine.
Features of the solution: This fixing method has a compact structure, small footprint, and good neutrality. However, it is required that the upper support structure must have sufficient strength and rigidity to bear the weight of the reducer itself and the entire load when operating at full load.
2. The base is fixed and matched with the torque arm (floor/support type)
This solution can be used if the working conditions require the reducer to be placed on the bottom foundation, or if the flange fixing strength is insufficient.
Fixing method: First, use the mounting holes (foot) at the bottom of the ZSY reducer to firmly fix it on a horizontal foundation or base. At the same time, a "torque arm" (also called a torque support rod) must be installed on the reducer housing, and the other end of the torque arm must be rigidly fixed to the surrounding frame or foundation.
Features of the scheme: The base provides the main gravity support, and the core function of the torque arm is to prevent the reducer housing from rotating due to the reverse rotation trend generated by the internal gear transmission, thereby effectively transmitting torque to the working machine shaft. If there is no torque arm, the reducer housing will rotate violently, causing serious safety accidents.
Key precautions when installing and fixing vertically:
Foundation and leveling: Regardless of the fixing method used, the installation foundation must be absolutely solid and reliable. Before installation, it is necessary to use a level to strictly calibrate the level of the installation surface, and install shock-absorbing pads if necessary to avoid equipment vibration and noise caused by weak foundation or tilt, and accelerated damage to gears and bearings.
Axial bearing capacity check: When installed vertically, the output shaft of the reducer needs to bear a large axial force. Before fixing, it must be checked whether the axial load-bearing capacity of the reducer meets the requirements of actual working conditions to prevent the output shaft from breaking or the bearing from being damaged early due to overload.
Fastener anti-loosening: The risk of vibration in vertical installation is relatively high. All fixing bolts must be tightened evenly according to the pre-tightening force specified by the manufacturer. It is recommended to use anti-loosening washers or apply thread fastening glue and check regularly to prevent loosening.
