The daily maintenance of reducers mainly includes the following aspects:
Check the health status
Temperature: Touch the reducer case regularly to feel whether its temperature is too high. Generally speaking, when the reducer is operating normally, the housing temperature should not exceed 80℃. If an abnormal temperature rise is found, it may be caused by excessive load, poor lubrication, poor heat dissipation, etc., and the fault needs to be checked in time.
Noise: Listen to the sound of the reducer when it is running. Under normal circumstances, it should be smooth and without abnormal noise. If abnormal sounds such as harshness, friction or impact occur, it may indicate wear of gears, damaged bearings or foreign objects inside, and the machine needs to be shut down for inspection.
Vibration: Observe the vibration of the reducer. Slight vibration is normal, but if the vibration is too large, it will affect the stability and service life of the reducer. It may be caused by insolid installation, unbalanced gears or motor failure, and corresponding inspections and adjustments are required.
Check the lubrication system
Oil level: Check the oil level of the reducer regularly to ensure that the oil level is within the normal range indicated by the oil mark. Too low oil level will lead to poor lubrication and aggravation of gears and bearings; too high oil level may cause problems such as rising oil temperature and oil seal oil leakage.
Oil quality: Observe the color, transparency and viscosity of the lubricant to determine whether the oil quality is good. If the oil becomes black, thickened, impurities or emulsification, it means that the lubricating oil has deteriorated or contaminated and needs to be replaced in time.
Lubrication system components: Check whether the oil filter is blocked, whether the oil pipe is leaking, whether the oil pump is working normally, etc. If the oil filter is blocked, it will affect the circulation of lubricating oil and lead to a decrease in lubricating effect; oil leakage in the oil pipe will cause oil loss, affecting the normal operation of the lubricating system; if the oil pump fails, the lubricating oil cannot be transported to various lubricating parts.
Check the connection parts
Bolt connection: Check whether the connection bolts between the reducer and the motor, and the reducer and the equipment are loose. Loose bolts will cause vibration and displacement of the connection parts, affecting the transmission accuracy, and may even cause safety accidents. When the bolt is found to be loose, tighten it in time.
Coupling connection: Check whether the coupling is firm and whether the elastic elements are worn. Couplings are important components connecting reducers and motors or other equipment. If the connection is not firm or the elastic components are worn, it will lead to reduced transmission efficiency and increased vibration.
Clean the speed reducer
External cleaning: wipe the reducer shell regularly with a clean cloth to remove dust, oil and debris from the surface. Keeping the reducer surface clean is conducive to heat dissipation and also facilitates observation of the operating conditions of the equipment.
Internal cleaning: When replacing lubricant, clean the inside of the reducer to remove impurities such as sludge and metal chips. Too much internal impurities will accelerate wear of gears and bearings, affecting the performance and life of the reducer.
Check seals
Oil seal: Check whether the oil seal of the reducer is damaged and whether there is any oil leakage. Oil seal is a key component to prevent lubricating oil from leaking. If the oil seal is damaged, lubricating oil will leak to the outside of the reducer, which will not only cause oil waste, but also pollute the environment, and may also lead to insufficient lubrication inside the reducer.
End cover seal: Check the sealing condition of the reducer end cover to ensure that the seal is good and prevent dust, moisture and other impurities from entering the reducer. If the end cap is not tightly sealed, external impurities enter the reducer, which will aggravate the wear of internal parts.
The daily maintenance of the reducer requires the operator to have certain professional knowledge and skills, and strictly follow the maintenance requirements and operating procedures. At the same time, maintenance records must be kept, problems must be discovered and dealt with in a timely manner, so as to extend the service life of the reducer and ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
