1. Ensure the installation foundation is firm and flat
The installation foundation of the reducer must be solid and reliable, and can withstand the weight and vibration of the equipment during operation. The flatness error of the installation base should be strictly controlled within ≤0.1mm/m, and high-strength bolts (such as low performance level 8.8) should be used for fixation, and anti-loosening washers should be used to prevent bolts from loosening due to unstable foundation or vibration, which in turn causes shell deformation.
2. Standardize assembly operations and strictly prohibit violent construction
When installing the transmission parts on the output shaft, it is absolutely prohibited to use a hammer to hit directly. The correct approach is to use the assembly clamp and the internal thread of the shaft end to press the transmission part smoothly through the bolt. Violent knocking can easily cause damage to the internal parts of the reducer and force deformation of the shell.
3. Ensure accurate axis alignment
The axis of the input shaft and output shaft of the reducer and the axis of the connected main motor part must be kept on the same axis, and their error cannot exceed the allowable compensation amount of the coupling used (for example, the radial deviation should be controlled within 0.05mm, and the angular deviation ≤ 0.02mm). Poor alignment will cause the reducer to be unevenly stressed during operation, resulting in additional stress and thus deformation of the housing.
4. Avoid using rigid fixed couplings
It is best not to use rigid fixed couplings during installation. Because once this type of coupling is installed improperly, it will cause unnecessary external loads, which will not only easily cause early damage to the bearings, but in severe cases may even cause the output shaft to break or the shell to be damaged.
5. Use a torque arm to deal with special working conditions
When the reducer is shaft-mounted, the housing will tend to reverse rotation due to internal gear transmission. At this time, the torque arm attached to the reducer housing must be used and the other end must be firmly fixed on the frame or foundation to prevent the housing from rotating, effectively transmit the torque, and prevent the housing from deforming due to huge reaction torque.
