1. Comparison of commonly used reducer types in rewinding machines

1. Helical gear reducer - "stable, durable, cost-effective"

Core advantages: high transmission efficiency (up to more than 95%), smooth operation and low noise, sturdy and durable structure, suitable for long-term continuous work.

Applicable scenarios: general transmission links such as conventional conveying and traction in rewinding machines. If you are cost-conscious and require stability and durability, this is a solid choice.

Shortcomings: It is relatively large in size and does not have a self-locking function.

2. Planetary reducer - "High precision, compact and resistant to manufacturing"

Core advantages: extremely high transmission accuracy (small return clearance), extremely compact structure (maximum torque under the same volume), good rigidity, and can withstand impact loads during the rewinding process.

Applicable scenarios: Rewinding equipment that requires extremely high paper tension control and positioning accuracy, or situations where the internal installation space of the equipment is limited.

Shortcomings: The manufacturing process is complex and the price is relatively expensive.

3. Worm gear reducer - "Large speed ratio, built-in safety and self-locking"

Core advantages: A single stage can achieve a large reduction ratio, and the structure is compact; the most important thing is that it has a reverse self-locking function, which can prevent the load from reversing after power failure, and is highly safe.

Applicable scenarios: Vertical lifting mechanisms, pressure roller adjustment mechanisms, etc. that need to prevent paper or rolls from falling upside down in rewinders.

Shortcomings: The transmission efficiency is low (about 60%-90%), the energy loss is large, the heat is obvious during long-term operation, and it is not suitable for high-frequency forward and reverse rotation.

4. Cycloidal pinwheel reducer - "The first choice for impact resistance and heavy load"

Core advantages: small size, large reduction ratio, and very impact resistant.

Applicable scenarios: heavy-duty conditions in rewinders that are subject to severe impact loads.

1. Accurately calculate torque and reserve safety factor

Don’t just look at theoretical torque. The rewinder will produce impact when starting, accelerating or when the paper tension changes suddenly, and the safety factor must be multiplied according to the load characteristics. For moderate impact loads, it is recommended to select the rated torque at 1.2~1.5 times the load torque; in severe impact conditions, the safety factor needs to be increased to more than 2.0 times to avoid overload damage.

2. Clarify work system and heating issues

It is necessary to confirm whether the rewinding machine operates continuously for 24 hours (S1 working system) or intermittently. Continuously operating equipment must give priority to high-efficiency models (such as helical gears or planetary reducers), and focus on checking the thermal power of the reducer to avoid lubricating oil failure and gear wear due to heat accumulation. If you choose a worm gear reducer, you need to pay special attention to its temperature rise.
