1. Drive shaft concentricity and alignment adjustment
This is the core part of the installation. When connecting, it must be ensured that the concentricity of the output shaft of the reducer and the input shaft of the motor (or the main shaft of the working machine) is consistent, and that the outer flanges are parallel. Excessive concentricity error will cause the output bearing to be subject to additional radial force. Under long-term action, the shaft will be forced to bend, the metal structure will be damaged, and eventually the shaft will be broken or the gear will be damaged. It is recommended to use a dial indicator or laser alignment instrument for precise alignment. The radial deviation and angular deviation must be strictly controlled within the coupling compensation range.
2. Installation by violent knocking is strictly prohibited
When installing transmission parts (such as sprockets and gears) on the output shaft, it is absolutely not allowed to directly hit them with tools such as hammers. Excessive axial force or radial force generated by violent knocking can easily damage the internal parts of the reducer. The correct approach is to use the assembly clamp and the internal thread of the shaft end to press the transmission part in smoothly with bolts.
3. Coupling Selection and anti-loosening measures
Try to avoid using rigid fixed couplings. If this type of coupling is installed improperly, it will cause unnecessary external loads, causing early damage to the bearings and even fracture of the output shaft. Elastic couplings (such as plum blossom couplings) are preferred to compensate for minor installation deviations, and elastomers such as rubber are used at the connecting ends to absorb torque fluctuations. In addition, long-term vibration can easily cause the connecting bolts to loosen. It is recommended to use thread glue or spring washers to prevent loosening, and tighten them diagonally in stages according to the specified torque.
4. Installation base and chain tension
The reducer must be firmly installed on a stable, level foundation or base. Insufficient rigidity of the base or uneven ground will cause vibration and noise during operation, accelerating damage to bearings and gears. For the turntable chain drive of the winding machine, the chain tension needs to be checked and adjusted regularly. If it is too tight, it will increase the bearing load, and if it is too loose, it will easily slip.
5. Standard operation of lubrication system
After the installation is in place, remove the screw plug of the vent hole and replace it with the vent plug, and check the oil level. Add oil until the lubricating oil overflows from the screw hole of the oil level plug to ensure that the lubrication system is smooth. For reducers that use oil immersion lubrication, pay attention to the oil immersion depth (for example, when the worm is under the worm gear, the oil immersion depth should be the full tooth height of the worm). New oil should be replaced after the first 500 hours of operation, and then replaced regularly according to working conditions to prevent overheating or wear caused by poor lubrication.
