What are the effects of excessive coaxiality of NGW reducer?

1. Transmission accuracy decreases
Coaxiality deviation will cause the gear meshing position to deviate from the theoretical center, increase the gear backlash, and cause the return clearance to exceed the standard. In applications that require frequent forward and reverse rotation or precise positioning, this will directly lead to inaccurate positioning and delayed response, seriously affecting transmission accuracy.
2. Reduced mechanical efficiency
Deviation will cause uneven force on the gears and change the instantaneous transmission ratio during the transmission process, resulting in periodic fluctuations in output speed and torque. At the same time, the gear meshing surface has poor contact and changes from ideal line contact to point contact or partial contact. The contact stress increases sharply and sliding friction increases, resulting in a decrease in mechanical efficiency.
3. Increased vibration and noise
Due to the sudden change in center distance, the gears will generate impact loads when entering and exiting mesh, causing harsh noises. This vibration and noise will be transmitted to the box through the shaft and bearings, causing vibration of the entire machine. If the vibration frequency coincides with the natural frequency of the reducer or equipment, it may also cause resonance, further amplifying the noise and increasing the risk of structural damage.
4. Shortened life span of key components
Bearings: Coaxiality deviation will force the bearing to bear additional radial force or bending moment, resulting in uneven wear of the inner and outer raceways of the bearing and cage deformation, thus greatly shortening the bearing life.
Gear: Unbalanced load will cause bending stress concentration at the gear tooth root, which can easily cause fatigue cracks at the tooth root, which may eventually lead to tooth breakage. At the same time, excessive contact stress on the tooth surface will accelerate the occurrence of pitting corrosion.
