What are the consequences of NGW reducer planetary carrier deformation or cracking?

1. Deterioration of transmission accuracy and abnormal jitter
The deformation of the planet carrier (especially the hidden deformation caused by long-term self-weight or heavy load) will change the relative position of the planet pin, which directly leads to changes in the instantaneous center distance between the planet gear, the sun gear, and the internal ring gear. This spatial unevenness will cause the meshing state of the gear teeth to deteriorate: the meshing backlash at some locations approaches zero or even interferes, while the backlash on the opposite side increases sharply. This will cause the instantaneous stiffness of the transmission chain to fluctuate violently, which is especially obvious under low-speed conditions, resulting in continuous abnormal shaking and knocking of the reducer.
2. Serious imbalance in load distribution and accelerated wear
Deformation of the planet carrier (including torsion and bending deformation) will break the theoretical uniform load design. The deviation in the position of each planet pin hole will cause a serious imbalance in the proportion of loads borne by different planet wheels. A planetary wheel that carries too much weight will increase tooth surface wear and even cause tooth breakage; while a planetary wheel that carries too little weight may produce idling vibration, causing energy to form an oscillatory backflow in the closed-loop transmission chain, further damaging the stability of the transmission system.
3. Decrease in transmission efficiency and increase in vibration and noise
Friction and impact between gears will increase significantly due to non-design contact and uneven load distribution in the meshing state. This will not only lead to a significant reduction in the transmission efficiency of the reducer, but also cause strong vibration and abnormal noise, seriously deteriorating the working environment of the equipment.
4. Fatigue failure of key components and equipment damage
After the planet carrier cracks or is severely deformed, the stress concentration phenomenon will intensify, which may cause serious structural damage to key parts such as the output end side plate. At the same time, abnormal impact loads will quickly affect related components such as the sun gear, ring gear, and bearings, resulting in abnormal bearing clearance, broken gear teeth, and even shaft system fractures, eventually causing the entire reducer to be scrapped or causing serious safety accidents.
To sum up, the deformation or cracking of the planet carrier is a fatal structural hazard of the NGW reducer. Once relevant signs are found, the machine must be stopped immediately for investigation and intervention from the aspects of structural rigidity optimization, assembly stress relief or component replacement to ensure the long-term operational stability of the transmission chain.
