Performance characteristics of reducer lubricating oil
1. Good wear resistance
Wear resistance refers to the ability of reducer lubricating oil to form and maintain an oil film on the friction surface between moving parts, prevent metal-to-metal contact, and reduce wear. The wear resistance of reducer lubricating oil mainly depends on oiliness and extreme pressure (shear resistance).
2. Viscosity and viscosity temperature
Reducer lubricating oil must have suitable viscosity and good viscosity-temperature performance.
In terms of viscosity-temperature performance, although reducer lubricating oil does not have large temperature changes like engine oil, it is also required to have good viscosity-temperature performance due to the high pressure on the tooth surface, especially when used in cold regions.Otherwise it will increase wear and increase fuel consumption.
3. Oxidation stability
Lubricants with good oxidation stability have a long service life. Therefore, antioxidants are usually added to lubricating oils to improve oxidation stability.
4. Anti-rust and corrosion-resistant
Rust resistance refers to the performance of reducer lubricants to prevent metal from rusting.
Corrosion resistance refers to the performance of gear oils in preventing metal corrosion.
5. Foam resistance
When the reducer lubricating oil is vigorously stirred during the gear movement, many small bubbles will be generated. If the small bubbles disappear quickly, it will not affect the use.If the stable foam does not disappear and emulsification deteriorates, overflow will occur on the tooth surface, destroying the lubricating oil film and aggravating wear.
