What impact does ambient temperature have on the output torque of the four series S47-30.33-1.1KW reducer

The ambient temperature has the following influence on the output torque of the S47 reducer:

High temperature environment

Changes in lubricant performance: Increased temperature will reduce the viscosity of lubricant in the reducer. After the viscosity of the lubricating oil decreases, the thickness of the oil film formed between transmission parts such as gears becomes thinner, and the load-bearing capacity decreases, resulting in an increase in friction during transmission. This will not only reduce transmission efficiency, but also consume an additional part of the torque, which will eventually lead to a decrease in output torque. At the same time, high temperatures may also reduce the antioxidant performance of the lubricant, accelerate the deterioration of the oil, further affect the lubricating effect, and aggravate the loss of torque.

Thermal expansion of components: High temperatures will expand the metal parts of the reducer. The degree of expansion of different components may vary, which will cause the gear meshing clearance to become smaller and even jamming; or the mating accuracy of bearings and other components will be reduced, resulting in additional resistance. These will increase the operating resistance of the reducer and require more torque to be consumed to overcome, thereby reducing the output torque. In severe cases, the reducer may not work properly.

Low temperature environment

Increased viscosity of lubricating oil: At low temperatures, the viscosity of lubricating oil will increase significantly. The fluidity of lubricating oil with excessive viscosity becomes poor, making it difficult to form a uniform oil film on the surface of the transmission member, resulting in poor lubrication. This increases frictional resistance between components such as gears and bearings, requiring a greater input torque to drive the reducer to operate, thereby reducing the output torque relatively. Moreover, the starting resistance of lubricating oil at low temperatures is also high, and there may be insufficient output torque in the early stage of starting, which will affect the normal starting of the equipment.

Changes in material properties: Low temperature will reduce the toughness of some metal materials and increase the brittleness. In this case, the gears and other components of the reducer are more likely to appear fatigue cracks or even breakage, which affects the reliability and efficiency of the transmission. Although this effect may not appear immediately under normal operating conditions, being in a low temperature environment for a long time will gradually reduce the performance of the reducer, resulting in a decrease in the stability of the output torque.

Generally speaking, the working ambient temperature of the S47 reducer is between 0°C and 40°C. If this range is exceeded, corresponding measures need to be taken, such as strengthening ventilation and heat dissipation in high-temperature environments, selecting high-temperature-resistant lubricating oil, preheating the lubricating oil in low-temperature environments, and selecting materials with good low-temperature performance, etc., to ensure the normal operation of the reducer and the stability of the output torque.
