There are four main repair methods for gear tooth surface wear: adjustment transposition method, displacement cutting method, insert tooth repair method and surfacing repair method. Let’s introduce in detail:
1. Adjust the transposition method: Replace the bearings of worn gears and continue to use gear parts that are not worn or have less wear. It is suitable for repairing gear transmission mechanisms with tooth surface wear caused by one-way operation.
2. Offset cutting method: Use a large-displacement method to cut out the corroded part of the tooth surface again with a numerical value and a wheel diameter hob. Use negative displacement and use positive displacement to make the large gear and small gear. After processing, they have become new gears. The transmission parameters remain unchanged, resulting in the repair of the large gear and its putting into use.
3. Gear shaping and gear modification method: For gears with small load and low speed, after knocking out individual teeth, the trapezoidal groove of the tooth root of the bad gear is planed on the planer during gear repair, and a new tooth blank with the same groove shape is pressed into a certain amount. The tightness should be firmly welded or connected with bolts.
4. Surfacing repair method: If individual gear tooth surfaces are worn or both sides of the tooth end are worn, one or more layers of metal can be surfacing on the entire or part of the gear surface according to the damage of the gear. Welding repair of gears can be divided into electric welding and gas welding. Repairing gears by surfacing welding is easy to operate and the repair quality is good.
