When replacing the Flender Flander reducer lubricant, thoroughly clean old oil and impurities can be performed as follows:

Preparation

Stop the machine in advance and let the reducer cool naturally to room temperature to prevent hot oil from burning.

Prepare new tools and materials such as lubricants, special wrenches, oil drain containers, funnels, filters, wipes, cleaning agents, etc. that meet the requirements.

Put oil

Find the oil drain hole of the reducer, usually located at the bottom of the reducer, unscrew the oil drain screw plug and drain the old oil into the oil drain container.

In order to drain the old oil as clean as possible, the output shaft of the reducer can be rotated slowly so that the oil attached to the gears and shafts can flow back to the oil pan and discharged.

Preliminary cleaning

After the old oil is basically discharged, use a wipe cloth to clean the oil stains and impurities around the oil drain holes to prevent impurities from entering the reducer during subsequent operations.

You can rinse the oil drain hole and the inside of the oil pan with a detergent, rinse the remaining oil stains and impurities, and then discharge the cleaning agent and residual impurities together.

Disassembly of parts (if necessary)

If there are removable parts inside the reducer, such as oil filters, oil pans, etc., they can be removed and cleaned separately.

Use special tools to remove the oil filter and remove impurities and oil stains from the filter element. If the filter element is damaged or blocked seriously, a new filter element should be replaced.
