In the field of printing machinery, choosing the right planetary reducer is crucial to ensuring efficient operation, precise control and long-term stability of the equipment. The following is a detailed description of the key considerations for selecting a planetary reducer in printing machinery through a specific example.
Suppose we have a printing company that needs to choose a planetary reducer for a new type of wheel press. The main working parameters of this wheel-transfer press are as follows: the maximum printing speed is 1000 meters per minute, the diameter of the printing cylinder is 1 meter, the printing accuracy is required to be within ±0.1 mm, the equipment operates for 16 hours a day, and the expected service life is 10 years.
First of all, the reduction ratio of the reducer needs to be considered. The choice of the reduction ratio depends on the motor speed of the printer and the speed required for the printing cylinder. Assuming that the selected motor speed is 1500 rpm and the ideal speed of the printing cylinder is 100 rpm, then by calculating (motor speed ÷ printing cylinder speed) the reduction ratio can be approximately 15:1.
Secondly, torque is another key factor. During the printing process, large load torque will be generated due to factors such as the tension and printing pressure of the paper. In order to accurately calculate the required torque, the inertia of the printing cylinder, friction and dynamic load during the printing process need to be considered. Through mechanical analysis and empirical formulas, the torque that the printing press needs to overcome in normal operating conditions is about 500 N·m. In order to ensure that the reducer can operate stably under various operating conditions, a reducer with a certain torque margin is usually selected, such as a product with a rated torque of 800 N·m.
In terms of accuracy, since the printing press requires a printing accuracy of less than ±0.1 mm, it is necessary to choose a planetary reducer with high accuracy. High-precision reducer can reduce transmission errors and ensure the position accuracy and speed stability of the printing cylinder. When choosing, you can pay attention to the return clearance index of the reducer. Generally, products with a return clearance of less than 5 arc minutes should be selected.
In terms of load-bearing capacity, in addition to considering torque, the radial and axial load-bearing capacity of the reducer also needs to be considered. During operation of the printing press, the printing cylinder will be subjected to forces from all directions, and the reducer needs to be able to withstand these forces without deformation or damage. According to calculations and experience, it is more appropriate to choose a reducer with a radial load capacity of more than 10,000 N and an axial load capacity of more than 5,000 N.
In addition, the efficiency of the reducer cannot be ignored. High-efficiency reducer can reduce energy loss and reduce operating costs. This is especially important for long-running printing machines. Generally speaking, choosing a planetary reducer with an efficiency of more than 90% can meet the energy saving requirements.
In terms of working environment, printing workshops usually have certain dust and moisture. Therefore, the selected planetary reducer should have a good protection level, such as IP55 or higher, to prevent dust and moisture from entering the reducer, affecting its normal operation and service life.
At the same time, considering the maintenance and reliability of the equipment, brands and manufacturers with good reputation and after-sales support should be selected. Reducers of some well-known brands are usually more guaranteed in quality control, material selection and manufacturing processes, and can provide more stable and reliable performance.
