The design of the PW series precision planetary reducer needs to focus on the reduction ratio, output torque, input speed, installation form and accuracy requirements, and combine the load conditions and spatial layout for system matching.
1. Determine core performance parameters
Reduction ratio (i): Calculated based on the driving motor speed and the required output speed. The PW series supports one to four levels of transmission, with a wide range of reduction ratios, such as 3~10 for the first level, 9~64 for the second level, and 60~512 for the third level.
Output torque: The rated output torque of the PW series is as high as 27500Nm (such as the PW420 model). It is necessary to ensure that the rated torque T2N of the Selection number covers the maximum operating torque of the equipment and leaves a safety margin.
Input speed: Different models have different maximum input speeds. For example, PW215 can reach 3000rpm, while PW360/PW420 is 2000rpm, which needs to match the maximum speed of the motor.
2. Check the mechanical carrying capacity
Cantilever load: Check the radial force (Fr) and axial force (Fa) on the output shaft to ensure that it does not exceed the allowable value. For example, the maximum radial force of PW420 is 38000N, and the maximum axial force is 28000N.
Backlash: High-precision applications (such as robots, inspection equipment) should choose precision grade, and the backlash can be as low as ≤1 arc minute.
Torsional rigidity: The PW series has strong torsional rigidity, such as PW420 reaching 592.4 Nm/arcmin, which is suitable for high dynamic response scenarios.
3. Structure and installation adaptability
Installation method: Supports multiple input/output configurations, such as shaft input (OP1), motor direct connection (OP2), hollow shaft expansion sleeve (K1), etc.
Space layout: Optional right-angle planetary reducer (orthogonal axis) to save space and change the output direction.
Interface size: The output shaft size (such as M8, Φ120) must completely match the load-side connecting parts. It is recommended to obtain the installation drawing for verification.
4. Application scenario adaptation suggestions
High-precision automation (such as CNC machine tools, robots): Give priority to low-backlash, high-rigidity models. It is recommended to choose PWF series or products with precision grade markings.
Heavy-load continuous operation (such as packaging machinery, logistics equipment): Pay attention to heat dissipation design and lubrication life. The PW series uses synthetic grease, IP65 protection, and supports lifetime maintenance-free.
Customized requirements: Some manufacturers support non-standard customization, including appearance, interface, reduction ratio, etc., suitable for special working conditions.
