Causes of surface damage on planetary reducers

Planetary reducers are usually used in low-speed, high-torque transmission equipment, electric motors, internal combustion engines or other high-speed running gears to achieve the purpose of reducing speed by reducing the input shaft gear on the output shaft. However, if the surface of the planetary reducer is damaged during processing, we should know the reason in time.

Causes of planetary reducer surface damage: tooth surface wear, tooth surface pits, broken teeth, shaft bending, dynamic imbalance of gears, loose inside of gearbox, cracks on gear roots.

Additionally, we addressed the following three causes:

1. Once the bearing is severely worn, overloaded or affected, the planetary reducer bearing will be slightly deformed or bent, causing the rotor to sweep.Due to chamber sweeping, the surface of the core can be scratched, or the core can be abraded, causing the windings to be damaged by the casing.Immediately cut off the power, stop the reducer and check it.

2. Due to frictional overheating, the silicon steel plate at the scraped part of the core is annealed, resulting in a decrease in the permeability of the silicon steel plate. If not treated in a timely and efficient manner, eddy current technology continues to increase as the core insulation of the planetary reducer ages, causing the temperature of the planetary reducer to increase. As a result, the micro-controlled motor is overheated and even burned.

3. A short circuit with winding insulation collapse or a grounded winding short circuit will produce an arc, which will burn the surface of the core, and the surface of the burned core is usually not flat. This will not only affect the normal operation of the planetary reducer, but also cause a short circuit between the silicon steel plates and increase the core vortex.

The above is the reason for the surface damage of the planetary reducer.
